Behind the Scenes: Creating Our Hand-Drawn Espresso Martini Wall Art

There's something magical about watching art come to life, stroke by stroke, color by color.

In our Fort Worth studio, each piece of our cocktail wall art collection begins the same way – with a blank canvas on my iPad and an Apple pencil in hand. Today, I want to take you behind the scenes of creating one of our most popular prints: the Espresso Martini with all its essential ingredients beautifully displayed.

From Sketch to Stunning Ingredients Display

When I set out to create our Espresso Martini wall art, I knew I had to capture more than just the drink itself. This piece showcases the perfect espresso martini ingredients – vodka, coffee liqueur, fresh-brewed espresso, and simple syrup – in an elegant visual that any coffee cocktail enthusiast would love. The print represents that perfect moment when you need both a pick-me-up and a wind-down – it's sophisticated, energizing, and absolutely gorgeous with its signature foam top and coffee bean garnish.

Working in Procreate on my iPad, I start with the basic structure – that elegant martini glass silhouette that's become iconic for this drink. The beauty of hand-drawing each piece is in the details. The subtle imperfections in the glass's curve, the organic way the foam sits atop the rich, dark liquid, the careful placement of those three coffee beans – each element is thoughtfully crafted.

The Art of Color and Detail

The painting stage is where this print really comes alive. Layering colors to achieve that perfect coffee hue – not too light, not too dark, but that rich espresso brown that makes your mouth water just looking at it. The foam requires delicate work, building up that creamy texture that makes you want to reach out and taste it.

What sets our prints apart is the attention to authentic detail. Every ingredient listed on our Espresso Martini print matches exactly what you'd use to make this cocktail at home. Looking for the essential espresso martini ingredients? Our print displays them clearly: vodka, coffee liqueur, fresh espresso, and simple syrup. We're not just creating pretty wall art – we're creating functional pieces that coffee and cocktail enthusiasts can actually reference when mixing drinks.

Bringing Your Walls to Life

Once the digital artwork is complete, each print is carefully produced right here in Fort Worth on premium 270 gsm cardstock. The weight and quality of the paper ensures that every subtle color gradation and fine detail translates beautifully from screen to wall. These aren't mass-produced posters – they're high-quality art prints made by real people who care about both cocktails and craftsmanship.

Whether you're a home bartender looking to inspire your next creation or simply someone who appreciates the artistry in a well-crafted cocktail, our Espresso Martini print adds that perfect touch of sophistication to any space. It's equally at home in a modern kitchen, a home bar area, or a cozy coffee nook.

Making Memories, One Print at a Time

What I love most about creating these pieces is knowing they'll become part of someone's daily life. Maybe it'll inspire weekend morning coffee cocktails, or perhaps it'll be the conversation starter at your next dinner party. Art has this wonderful way of bringing people together, and there's something special about creating pieces that celebrate both creativity and the simple pleasures in life.

Every time you see this print on your wall, you'll know it was created by hand, with intention, right here in Texas. No algorithms, no mass production – just good old-fashioned artistry with a modern twist.

Our Best Espresso Martini Recipe

Our Best Espresso Martini Recipe

The Espresso Martini is the perfect marriage of cocktail hour and coffee break – a sophisticated drink that delivers both energy and elegance. Created in London during the 1980s, this modern classic combines the smoothness of vodka with rich coffee flavors and just the right touch of sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1/2 ounce coffee liqueur
  • 1 ounce fresh-brewed espresso
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • Coffee beans for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 ounce of fresh espresso and let cool to room temperature
  2. Add vodka, coffee liqueur, cooled espresso, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice
  3. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes frosty
  4. Double strain into a chilled martini glass or coupe
  5. Garnish with 3 coffee beans on top

Serves: 1

Notes

For the best foam, make sure your espresso is completely cooled before shaking, and shake vigorously to create that signature frothy top. The three coffee beans traditionally represent health, wealth, and happiness. If you don't have an espresso machine, you can substitute with strong cold brew concentrate.
