Abbesses Station, Paris — Hand-Illustrated Montmartre Art Print

The Abbesses Métro entrance is the most beautiful subway entrance in Paris, and possibly the world. This hand-illustrated print captures the original Art Nouveau ironwork canopy — the green metalwork, the yellow Metropolitain sign, the morning light through the trees, a Paris Métro train waiting at the platform below. Small visitors have found their way onto the arch and down to the pavement, watching the neighborhood wake up.

Printed as a genuine giclée on 270 GSM FSC-certified heavyweight cover stock with fade-resistant pigment inks. Available in 8x10 and 11x14, unframed and ready for your favorite frame.

The Stop We Found by Accident

We went to Montmartre to see Sacré-Coeur. We ended up spending an hour at the Metro entrance at the bottom of the hill, watching people disappear into the ironwork arch and come back out again.

The Abbesses entrance is one of only two original Art Nouveau canopy entrances left in Paris — most were removed in the mid-20th century. This illustration starts from a photo taken at street level, looking straight at the arch. The ironwork, the yellow sign, the train at the platform below — all drawn by hand in our Fort Worth studio.
About the Illustration
The Abbesses Métro station serves Line 12 in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, at the base of the Montmartre hill. The Art Nouveau entrance canopy was designed by Hector Guimard in the early 1900s and is one of only two original enclosed canopy designs still standing in the Paris Métro system.

The illustration captures the entrance from street level with the full canopy arch in the frame, the yellow Metropolitain sign above the entry, and a Line 12 train visible at the platform below.
Paris Wall Art for Any Space
This print works in a home office, living room, bedroom, or as part of a travel gallery wall. It pairs naturally with other city prints in the Hand-Illustrated Stopovers series — Chicago, Rome, Tokyo, Seattle, and New York are all available separately.

The green and gold palette is warm and unusual — different from the typical blue Paris palette most travel prints use. A simple black or brass frame complements the Art Nouveau character of the piece.
A Gift for Paris Lovers

This Paris art print makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves French culture, has visited Montmartre, or has a soft spot for beautiful architecture. It is a popular choice as a Paris gift, a Francophile birthday present, or a memento of a trip to the 18th arrondissement.
